Rixoc GT60 Electric Bike Review: Smooth, Commuter-Friendly Power (But Not a Torque Monster)

The Rixoc GT60 is one of those e-bikes that looks like it wants to pick a fight with traffic… and then surprises you by being pretty polite about it.

It has the stance and proportions of the familiar “Sur Ron-style” high-powered e-bike category—19-inch knobby tires, moto seat, long wheelbase, and a big 60V battery—but the way it actually delivers power is smoother and more controllable than I expected. That’s a good thing if you’re planning to ride it like a real bike (bike lanes, neighborhood streets, mixed-use paths where legal), not just pin the throttle everywhere.
The question is: does that smooth tune feel fast enough when you’re buying into a 60V, 3,000W (4,000W peak) rear hub setup? After testing acceleration, throttle behavior, pedal assist, braking, handling, and a bit of light off-road riding, I’ve got a pretty clear take.
First Impressions
From a few feet away, the GT60 fits right into the current wave of compact electric “dirt bike inspired” e-bikes. It immediately reminded me of bikes like the X2 Pro and the Jasion-style platforms.
Where it stood out to me right away was build/assembly quality. I’ve checked out another Rixoc previously that felt a little more DIY in places. With the GT60, the unboxing and assembly experience felt more refined—still very much in this category of bikes, but cleaner and more complete.
A few details jumped out early:
The 19-inch knobby tires (both front and rear) look ready for mixed terrain. If you’re mainly on pavement, I’d personally consider swapping to a more street-friendly tire.
The rear hub motor is rated 3,000W (4,000W peak). It’s not the biggest diameter hub motor I’ve seen on a 60V bike, but it is a bit wider than usual.
The battery uses a drop-down design, which I strongly prefer for real life. It’s easier to remove for storage, charging, or security.
The lighting setup is genuinely useful: rear brake light functionality plus integrated turn signals, and front indicators too.
It’s also a single-speed. No gears, no shifting—just pedal assist and throttle with the motor doing the heavy lifting.
Controls, Security, and Daily Usability
Starting the GT60 is a little more involved than a typical e-bike, and that’s intentional.
You’ve got a key ignition, then a power button, and then NFC access using a card swipe. Once you’re in, the bike boots into a “P” (park) state, and squeezing the brake gets you out of it.
I actually like this setup for this style of bike. It’s not foolproof theft prevention, but it’s a real step up from “hold power for two seconds and anyone can ride off.”
On the bars, I had:
A full twist throttle (moto-style)
Turn signal controls
Independent headlight control
A loud electronic horn
A center display
The handlebar has a bit of rise, but if I were setting this up long-term, I’d probably install riser bars to bring the controls closer to me.
Fit and Comfort
This is one of those bikes that feels comfortable in the seat immediately.
The moto-style saddle is the Sur Ron-style shape, and it’s easy to imagine swapping it or reupholstering it if you’re into customization. But even stock, it’s a big part of why these bikes are so approachable.
For sizing context: my inseam is about 30 inches, and I couldn’t quite flat-foot it. One foot down felt totally fine, but if you’re a shorter rider, that’s worth keeping in mind.
Weight-wise, it feels like a heavy bike. The frame is steel, and the whole package comes across as something you’ll want to store in a garage or shed. Carrying it up stairs would be a headache—even if you remove the battery to lighten it up.

Power Delivery: Smooth and Easy to Manage
The GT60 has five power modes, and the personality changes noticeably between them.
What surprised me most was how good the lower modes felt. A lot of high-powered cadence-sensor bikes have that “all the volts, all at once” behavior, especially in level 1—like the bike is trying to yank you forward the moment the sensor wakes up.
That’s not how the GT60 felt.
Pedal assist feels more natural than expected
In pedal assist level 1, the initial hit of torque is still strong, but once the motor engages, the delivery feels calibrated. Smooth. Controlled. It almost gave me the impression of a torque sensor style ramp-up—even though it isn’t actually a torque-sensing bike.
Level 2 stepped up nicely, with a really pleasant power-to-weight feel. Level 3 “woke up” more aggressively, and by that point I was seeing the bike push up toward a 20 mph ceiling.
Then level 4 felt like a practical sweet spot for faster street riding because it appeared to cap around 28 mph. In other words: the modes don’t just change how hard it pulls—they also change the effective top speed.
That matters because it changes how you’d actually use the GT60 day to day.
Throttle response on level 5 is delayed (but not in a bad way)
On power level 5, throttle response wasn’t instant. There’s a noticeable ramp delay—think “one… two… three… and then it starts building.”
I didn’t hate it.
That slow ramp makes the bike easier to control, especially if you’re riding in mixed environments where you’re constantly modulating speed. The tradeoff is that it doesn’t feel like a wild 60V bike right off the line.
And that’s the theme here: the GT60 is a bit tame for a 60V setup.
To be clear, it’s not slow. It just doesn’t have that brutal low-end punch I associate with bigger, beefier hub motors. My guess from riding it is that the motor size/design is part of that—because the battery system is clearly substantial.
Top Speed Testing: About 37 MPH in Real Riding
With the speed limit opened up through the app, I tested top speed using GPS-based measurement. The consistent result I saw was about 36–37 mph on flat ground.
On a downhill run, I was able to flirt with 39 mph.
I also tested cruise behavior: letting off the throttle, letting off pedaling, and seeing what it holds. It would sit around 36–37 mph.
So if you’re buying the GT60 hoping it’s a 45+ mph rocket, that’s not what I experienced.
But if your goal is “quick enough to flow with faster city streets” (where appropriate/legal) and you care about smoothness more than insanity, it lands in a pretty usable spot.

Braking: Well Matched to the Bike
The GT60 uses Logan hydraulic disc brakes with a notably large rotor, and in practice the brakes felt right for the bike.
Not sketchy.
Not underpowered.
Just a solid match for the speed and weight, which is exactly what I want to say after riding something that can get into the high 30s.
Handling and Maneuverability
For a heavier, moto-seat, 19-inch tire e-bike, it’s easy to maneuver.
That’s one of the reasons this category is so popular: once you’re rolling, the balance feels natural and the bike doesn’t feel awkward to place in a corner or thread through turns. The GT60 fits that expectation.
Suspension: Good, But Needs Dialing
The suspension setup is a hydraulic front fork (with compression adjustment) and a rear air shock.
On pavement, it felt pretty good.
Off road—or even just on grass—it was clear the rear needed some attention. The bike handled small hills without drama, and the suspension was “doing its thing,” but I could feel bumps coming through more than I wanted. My voice was literally vibrating while riding, which is a good sign the rear shock needs to be adjusted for rider weight and terrain.
There’s capability here, but I’d spend time tuning the rear shock if you plan to leave the pavement often.

Light Off-Road Riding: Capable, But I Preferred Pavement
I took it onto grass and some light off-road sections.
It climbed without a problem, and the bike stayed composed enough to be fun. But I’ll be honest: I enjoyed it more on pavement.
Part of that is simply the kind of bike this is. It can do light off-road, but if your main goal is rough trail riding, you’ll probably end up wanting more suspension refinement (and potentially different tires depending on conditions).
Features That Actually Matter While Riding
A few details made the GT60 feel more “complete” than some of the other bikes in this style:
Turn signals and brake light functionality
Integrated signals and a brake-activated tail light aren’t just gimmicks on something that can cruise in the 30s. They genuinely improve visibility and reduce stress when you’re riding around cars.
Drop-down battery design
I love being able to pull the battery quickly for charging or security. It’s one of those things that doesn’t sound exciting until you live with the bike.
App-adjustable speed limit
Being able to set speed limits through the app changes how you can use the bike. You can keep it calmer in certain environments and open it up when you’re in a place where higher speed is appropriate.

The One Thing That Bugged Me: Cruise Control Behavior
In power level 5, the bike would kick into cruise control.
Even after disabling cruise control in the app, I still experienced it activating in level 5. In levels 1 through 4, it didn’t behave that way.
Some riders will like cruise control, especially on longer straight runs. Personally, I prefer deciding when cruise is on rather than having it appear automatically.
If Rixoc can tighten up that behavior in firmware (or make the setting stick reliably), it would make the bike feel more polished.
Customization Potential
If you like to mod, the GT60 is a good canvas.
The seat, fenders, tires, bars—this whole Sur Ron-style ecosystem has a ton of parts floating around, and the GT60 feels compatible with that general world.
Even visually, the platform looks similar enough to other bikes in the category that it should be easy to personalize.
Real-World Use Cases
A fast commuter (with the right expectations)
If you want a bike that feels stable, comfortable, and quick enough for faster streets, the GT60 makes sense. The tune is smooth, and the lighting/signals help it feel more street-ready.
A fun neighborhood ripper
This is a great “hop on and go” bike. No shifting, simple controls, and the bike is easy to maneuver.
Light off-road and grass/dirt paths
It’ll do it, and the power is there for hills. I’d just plan to spend time on suspension setup if that’s your main riding.

Final Thoughts
The Rixoc GT60 is at its best when you ride it like a real-world machine: comfortable, stable, and quick enough to be genuinely useful, without being a handful.
If you’re chasing maximum violence off the line, this probably won’t scratch that itch. The GT60’s low-end punch is more controlled than crazy, and the overall tune feels intentional—almost commuter-friendly for a bike in this category.
But if you want a Sur Ron-style, 60V hub-motor e-bike that’s easy to ride, easy to live with, and capable of around 37 mph when unlocked, the GT60 is a solid pick. I just wish the cruise control behavior in level 5 was more predictable, and I’d plan on dialing in that rear shock if you’re going to spend time off pavement.
