72V EGO Mini Bike Range Test: Real-World Miles on a Powerful Lithium Pack

I’ve been itching to answer the one question everyone asks once a mini bike starts feeling legitimately fast: how far will it actually go when you ride it like you mean it?

Powerful Lithium

So I took my 72V EGO mini bike setup with a 72V 30Ah battery from Powerful Lithium out for a real ride on scenic river roads, tracked the trip, and then did the math at the end. This wasn’t a “putt around the block at 12 mph” range test. I rode it like a mini bike that can touch 50.

A quick note on the vibe

The first thing that hits you is how quiet this thing is. Not “quiet for a mini bike.” Quiet, period. At times, wind moving through the trees was louder than the drivetrain. That’s awesome for enjoying the ride… and something you need to keep in mind around pedestrians, cyclists, and cars that aren’t expecting you.

Power delivery: smooth, then suddenly serious

This setup has different power levels, and each one feels distinct.

Level 1 feels like an “eco” mode. The throttle is smooth and predictable, and it doesn’t lurch off the line. It’s the mode that makes the bike feel easygoing and friendly.

Level 2 is the “okay, now we’re moving” setting. The jump from level 1 is noticeable, but it still stays refined. It has that “deep reserve” feeling where the bike isn’t trying hard… it just goes.

Level 3 is where self-control matters. The power is immediate and it’s properly quick. It’s the mode that makes you sit up and pay attention to what your right hand is doing.

What I loved most is that even when it’s ripping, it still feels controllable. It’s strong without feeling twitchy.

Handling and ride feel on real roads

Out on the river roads, the bike felt stable and well-balanced. The center of gravity feels right, and it’s the kind of mini bike you’re comfortable leaning into turns with.

Even when I rolled on hard in the higher power mode, it stayed planted. I didn’t get that sketchy “front end wants to climb” feeling that some smaller bikes can give you when they’re overpowered.

The only ergonomic nitpick I had is foot peg placement. I’d personally prefer the pegs a little farther forward, just for long-ride comfort and to open up the cockpit a bit.

The range test route and how I tracked it

I started the ride at 87% battery and logged the ride with a GPS tracking app. The plan was simple: ride a meaningful loop, don’t baby it, come back, and see what battery percentage was left.

At the midway point, I was at 71% battery. The riding up to that point felt strong and consistent, and the bike stayed impressively quiet the whole time.

Results: miles, speed, and remaining battery

Back at the end of the loop, here’s what I recorded:

Distance: 24.6 miles

Average speed: about 22 mph

Top speed: about 50 mph

Battery remaining: 38%

So I used 49% of the battery (from 87% down to 38%) to cover 24.6 miles.

Doing the math: efficiency and projected range

The battery is a 72V 30Ah pack, which works out to 2,160 watt-hours total.

I used 49% of that capacity on the ride:

49% of 2,160 Wh = 1,158.4 Wh used

Efficiency over the ride:

1,158.4 Wh / 24.6 miles = 43.2 Wh per mile

Projected full-range at that same riding style:

2,160 Wh / 43.2 Wh per mile ≈ 50 miles

For the kind of riding that included speeds up to 50 mph, that’s a seriously usable number.

What We Like

Quiet, stealthy ride feel (almost surreal on a mini bike)

Throttle is smooth and predictable, even with big power on tap

Noticeable step-up in power between modes, with a refined feel

Stable handling and confidence leaning into turns

Real-world range potential that pencils out to about 50 miles at this riding pace

Things To Consider

It’s so quiet that you need to think about being seen and heard around others

Level 3 power demands restraint; it’s easy to get yourself into trouble if you ride carelessly

Foot peg position may not be ideal for everyone over longer rides

Range estimates depend heavily on how you ride (speed, stops, throttle habits)

Final Thoughts

This 72V EGO mini bike with the Powerful Lithium pack is the kind of build that turns a fun toy into a legitimate ride. It’s smooth, stable, and deceptively quick, and it doesn’t feel like it’s straining to do any of it.

The big takeaway for me is that the range isn’t just “acceptable,” it’s genuinely practical. Covering 24.6 miles while using about half the pack—and still hitting 50 mph on the ride—makes this setup feel like something you can actually plan around.

And beyond the math: it’s a blast. Plain and simple.
